The instructor was great, she taught me exactly what I needed to know. On the other hand it was a bit hard to focus with the cold wind and rain. When I signed up, I did not know it was going to be an outside learning experience, I was picturing a classroom!

22 years ago I moved to the country out in Lowell. Fallasburg Park Drive, and the nearby streets are dotted with several farms, and barns. Probably my favorite subject to photograph farms and barns, so I made the right move. This barn is on the Smith farm, 2 minutes down the road. The farm is a centennial farm, in the family for over 100 years. Unfortunately, over the last year, Mr & Mrs Smith passed away. The family has decided to sell the 80 acres ($1.2 million). I wish I had the money

I live near the water. As I worked in my garden, this eagle landed near the water's edge. It stayed long enough for me to grab my good old Cannon Rebel and I was able to capture several images with my 200mm lens. The bird seemed to have no fear of me. I moved slowly peacefully towards it and I ended up about 25' away. I did not want to scare it, so I only captured a few images. When I had finished, the bird remained here for quite some time. It was an amazing experience. I did crop the image to

Title or Location: I captured this image along the river walk in downtown Grand Rapids, MI.
You can see this very distinctive church steeple from various points around the city. This was one perspective I've never seen of it and I was drawn to the moment I saw it through the trees, across the river on the opposite side of the highway. I was able to capture an image that feels special to me and speaks to some of the great architecture that Grand Rapids has to offer.

While attending Art Prize several years ago, I went to Devos Place to view the entries. While I was at the upper level in the rear I looked toward the front toward Monroe Ave, and it reminded me of the mobius strip. I took the picture using a Canon DSLR with a 17-40mm lens. I shot it at 28mm 1/160 second f/8.When I got home and opened the photo on my computer I thought it looked like what I had visualized.

Shot this picture on my Canon EOS R, with my recently acquired Sigma 14mm f1.8 lens. It was captured at f/1.8, 1600ISO and 8 sec exposure.Having worked in Northern British Columbia and out of town for nearly 10 years, I became accustomed to the spectacular northern lights shows it had to offer! So I finally made the plunge in the last 6 months and got myself a real camera, and just last month picked up the new sigma lens. After getting off a 10 hour work day, I had a quick bite to eat fo
